  1. Interlude

From the recording Source Materials

Track 5: Interlude
This is an original composition that I wrote and produced. I wrote it shortly after I was at
my family’s lake house in Chelan, Washington two years ago. I was sitting on the dock on a warm
summer night and I looked up and saw millions of stars. I was taken aback by all the stars and the
celestial formations of the milky way. I derived inspiration from the score of “Theory of
6
Everything,” which tells the story of Stephen Hawking’s life. The longer I looked up into the sky,
the bigger the universe seemed to get as I kept counting stars that night. I reflect this same
sentiment in the piece by gradually building its instrumentation.
